- While attending school Glen Briggs meets Kathleen Povey. The two begin a romantic relationship.

- Glen Briggs and Kathleen Povey are married in a small private ceremony. Briggs will remain extremely private about his personal life in order to protect his wife.
- February 14, 2100
- Cecilia Briggs is born, the first and only child of Glen Briggs and Kathleen Povey
- September 14, 2105
- Kathleen Briggs dies from a terminal brain tumor, leaving Glen Briggs to be the sole caretaker of their daughter, Cecilia. As a result, Briggs arranges to scale back the number of assignments and operations to which he is assigned.
