- Glen Briggs and Kathleen Povey are married in a small private ceremony. Briggs will remain extremely private about his personal life in order to protect his wife.
- February 14, 2100
- Cecilia Briggs is born, the first and only child of Glen Briggs and Kathleen Povey
- September 14, 2105
- Kathleen Briggs dies from a terminal brain tumor, leaving Glen Briggs to be the sole caretaker of their daughter, Cecilia. As a result, Briggs arranges to scale back the number of assignments and operations to which he is assigned. When he is away, he is able to arrange for relatives and family friends to look after Cecilia.
